Top of the Range – Introducing the new Range Rover

Written by Fiona Irving

Land Rover has revealed the redesign of its spectacular all-new Range Rover, making it the most desirable model this iconic manufacturer has ever created.

The flagship SUV was last revised in 2020 with some minor tweaks and a new powertrain added. However, the latest model brings with it a mild hybrid powertrain, plug-in hybrid option, enhanced performance, remarkable capability and Hot Stone Massage seats (no, seriously).

Class, elegance and refinement rolled into one exceptional and compelling composition. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Range Rover really.

Here’s 4 reasons why we love it (already!).

Performance

Every Range Rover enthusiast knows that performance oozes through Land Rover’s DNA and the new addition to the line-up is no exception.

Boasting the most advanced powertrain to date – a new 530HP 4.4-litre V8 producing maximum torque of 750Nm paired with an eye-watering 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds with ‘Dynamic Launch Active’, you can’t deny it’s impressive for a beast of its size.

The mild hybrid powertrain option is cleaner and more efficient. All Wheel Steering is fitted as standard which is new to Land Rover and delivers an even more refined drive.

Plug-in hybrid and Electric

It exudes beauty. It possesses performance. And now it’s efficient too.

With a cleaner and more efficient powertrain, the plug-in hybrid powertrain enhances efficiency without compromise. A combination of sustainability with luxury allows you to cruise completely emission free for up to 62 miles (100km) while producing less than 30g/km in CO2.

When it comes to charging, this Range Rover can achieve up to 80% charge in just 60 minutes when using a rapid charger. Alternatively, you’re looking at around 5 hours charging time using a 100% 7kW AC home charger – not bad at all.

Performance wise, the Plug-in Hybrid still packs a punch. The 3.0-litre 6-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine with 105kW motor is available on P440e and P510e variants.

If you’re leaning more towards a fully electric model, the all-electric Range Rover is yet to hit our roads. However, Land Rover have announced it will be making an appearance in 2024. It will combine the pinnacles of Range Rover with efficiency and its environmental impact at the forefront of its design.

Technology

From performance to tech, no expense has been spared with the new Range Rover’s technology (not that we’d expect it to be).

Seamlessly integrated connectivity and convenience is at every turn including a new high-resolution 13.7″ Interactive Driver Display. The layout offers configurable options and important information at a glance. Intuitively control your Range Rover through the curved, floating 13.1″ Touchscreen while the Advanced Pivi Pro infotainment is always on, always connected, always up to date.

Another new addition is the 8” Rear Seat Touchscreen Controller and 11.4” Rear Seat Entertainment with curved glass and 16:9 Full HD. What’s more, the Online Pack and Amazon Alexa, lets you control your music, find parking spaces and control smart devices at home.

These are just a few of the extremely impressive technology features included in this beauty. We’re blown away.

Wellness and Wellbeing

An unusual topic to focus on with a new car release, we agree, however, this is a top of the range luxurious model and for anyone that gets behind the wheel, they will want to feel exactly that. Luxury.

The Executive Class rear seats which offer customary Range Rover comfort now include Hot Stone Massage seats and that’s just for starters.

The Range Rover’s cabin features an Air Purification Pro System with PM2.5 filtration. Capable of reducing odours, bacteria allergens and pathogens and can even be operated remotely before you start your journey. The CO2 management system alters and monitors the levels inside the cabin with automatic air freshening when required.

And, a world-first, headrest speakers that create quiet zones within the cabin while acoustic laminated glass allows you to embrace the peace and close the door to the outside world.

Overall, Land Rover’s spectacular redesign of its all-new Range Rover really is the most desirable model this iconic manufacturer has ever created.
