Ten Second Review
BMW M 135i lease review - The M series of BMW cars are pushing into the performance area of the market when it comes to control, speed and comfort. Built for drivers that like more than a box with wheels that gets them from A to B, the M135i is a quality car both inside and out. When driving in a range of conditions from straight motorway acceleration to winding country roads you can feel the well refined German technology taking effect.
This is a smaller, cheaper version of the BMW 1 Series, with a much greater performance output thanks to the tuning magic of BMW’s M shop. Starting with the exterior design, this is something of a twin to the 1 Series but with much sharper edges. The overall design works well but the front is somewhat squashed, as if they had taken a cue from the longer bonnets of other models and then reduced it down.
That being said, the reduced chassis gives this a great ride, and the suspension is well adapted to handle anything this has to throw at it, with the option of adaptive dampers to make this a flawless ride. Inside this is classier than you might expect, the leather interior is standard and there are a few impressive flourishes with the design, while there is plenty of space in the back for children and adults alike.
The kit on this car is skewed towards its sporty drive, and therefore climate control and radio are about all you get as standard, while the aforementioned spirts suspension package and 18 inch alloys help sell its sports credentials. Still, the place to be is certainty at the front in the driver’s seat. Not only do you get all the added benefits of the above systems, but the drive is astonishingly fast, getting you up to 60mph in under five seconds, but still managing to feel easy to control with a ride that grips well at high speeds and will make you feel that you can achieve anything.
The adapted brakes work nicely alongside a variety of steering and stopping aids, alongside six airbags and stability control to give you a fairly safe ride, while the rear bootspace is impressive and gives the car a practical element. But if you are looking at this model you are looking for a smaller motor with plenty of speed and a really thrilling drive, and that is what the M 135i will provide in swathes.
