Ten Second Review
BMW X4 Lease Review - The X4 sits in a curious position between true 4x4 and standard coupe driving. The styling is evocative of a saloon model from the back, with four doors and a roof that sloped gently towards the bonnet, while the front end has a hungry SUV look, with large air intakes and mean looking headlights, plus a bonnet design that looks a little out of place. This does work well and has been nicely integrated, but it makes the driver seem rather small in comparison to his massive car when looked at from the outside.

Under this unique hood you get your choice of either two 3.0 litre six cylinder engines or the economic 2.0 litre four cylinder version, the pick being the middle of the road 255bhp 30d engine, which will get you to 60mph in five and a half seconds and is impressive with low-end performance.

The raised ride height and unique styling of this car does have an impact on the drive, but this is a very comfortable car that is genuinely fun to drive, it works brilliantly under breaking while being very flexible on any road you can find. Inside this is a reasonable copy of the X3, with leather seats and dual zone climate control as standard while there is plenty of room in the back for all the family. This also shares all the reliability of its SUV brethren, coming high up the owner surveys and keeping road and wind noise to a minimum. This increases on the standard kit of the X3, Satellite navigation comes as standard alongside Bluetooth and USB compatibility, all controlled through the iDrive system on what is a very well laid out dash, with the central console taking up most of the space but also most of the workload.

Finally this model incorporates a solid boot, only 50 litres under that in the X3, while with the seats down you still get a gaping 1400 litres at your disposal, while safety features include curtain airbags to keep you safe should the worst happen. This is a unique model that lives and dies by the styling, it will make a great motorway cruiser and is a very entertaining car to drive, it just depends on how you think it looks!
