Ten Second Review
Jaguar XE Lease Review - If there is an aging automotive range that still has sex appeal, it’s Jaguar. The XE oozes class and confidence in every curve, and like its practical forbears comes not only easy on the eyes but the company’s accounts as well. While directly in competition with models such as the BMW 3 series, this beautiful looking machine sits comfortably on the drive and works the roads like a demon. Offering a choice of either petrol or diesel, the supercharged V6 3.0 litre petrol is easily the most fun but drinks heavily as it eats up the miles.

A private user is probably better off with the mid-range 2.0i turbo petrol with 237bhp, while company fleets will adore the 2.0 180 diesel which delivers 178bhp with plenty of torque and won’t break the bank; the efficiency stats and CO2 output will keep the taxman away for a while. On the road you get the kind of nimble drive you expect from a Jaguar, with good feedback and throttle response, with the diesel engines refined and the petrol just noisy enough to attract your attention. This also has the same benefits shared by most British-made executive models, it is long. Tall adults can stretch out in the front and back while the domes roof offers plenty of headroom, plus offering easy access getting in and out of the car. The middle seat is still an issue though, and best left to the kids. Right at the back you get 450 litres of boot space, ample room for the family cases plus the golf clubs if need be.

On the minimalistic dash comes plenty of great kit, mostly controlled through the colour touchscreen display and including parking sensors, sat nav, adaptive cruise and climate controls, blind spot monitors and an excellent sound system. The extras list is definitely worth a peek, with traffic sign recognition (ensures your sat-nav is 100% up to date), self-parking and laser HUD all options.

Finally, this is packed full of safety and security technology that justifies the not unreasonable price tag. A strong contender in the range and a great buy for anyone interested in an executive British model.
