Ten Second Review
Skoda Octavia Lease Review - The Octavia has been Skoda’s best-selling model since 1996 and their press pack includes this comment: “Skoda’s success and development has been driven by one key model: The Octavia.”
The Octavia is built on the Volkswagen MQB platform which gives it stability and desirability for the family hatchback or estate car. These days, the Octavia engine range is expansive and includes diesel and petrol models as well as the super-efficient GreenLine.
Reviewers repeatedly state that the Octavia isn’t particularly fun to drive but it feels competent. Handling is “conservative” and there is little body roll or jolting; the Octavia steers easily and fairly effortlessly.
There is plenty of passenger room in either model, even for larger occupants. The doors open wide and there is generous head and leg room, and a broad seat base. The boot is an ample 590 litres, increasing to 1,590 litres with the seats folded down.
Skoda’s standard kit is generous from the base model on up. Octavias are equipped with alloys, DAB radio, an emergency braking system, electric front windows + door mirrors and Bluetooth connectivity.
You won’t be buying the Octavia for your next performance car, but you will appreciate it for its conservative handling and comfort – especially when carrying your precious cargo.
