Ten Second Review
Jaguar F-Type Convertible Lease Review - The show-stopping looks of the 1960s Jaguar E-Type have come back to life in the new F-Type convertible. There is an homage-like trace of the E predecessor in the new rear wheel drive F-Type but the overall lines and details are totally modern.
Jaguar’s entry level V6 costs £58,000 and is well regarded by testers for its excellent driving dynamics. Move up to the next level, the V6 S, and you’ll find the same steering feel, gear change speeds, throttle response and exhaust noise of the entry-level F-Type. But the V6 S is edgier and more focused. Or jump to the top model, the V8 S – called a “monster of a car.” The V8 S is fast and “flamboyant” in handling, steering, and ride.
Test drivers fell hard for the 3 F-Type versions, writing glowingly about the driving experience, low vibration and superb body control in cornering. They also praised the car’s quick, precise steering, “grippyness,” and agility.
F-Type owners aren’t typically focused on fuel economy but the stop-start system (standard on all models) helps with fuel management and keeps the CO2 emissions at around 209g/km – very good for a high-performance car.
You won’t be buying the F-Type 2-seater convertible because it’s cost-effective. You’ll more likely be torn between the Jaguar “look,” the power, and the handling. Or you might force yourself to settle for all three.
