Ten Second Review
Mercedes-Benz SL Class Lease Review - The SL Class takes the smooth refinement of the SLK sports-car and turns up the temperature with a ride that will thrill and an engine to match. Whatever you are looking for this car will come with a fast engine, but the pick of the pack has to be the SL55 AMG version; despite coming in the middle of the range you get 530bhp for your money and this is incredibly quick to get to sixty. This is always going to be a thirsty car and therefore expect a hefty price at the pump, but with a top-down sportscar there is no real economical option.
The size of the car does have something of an effect on the handling, it can take a while to get used to the very long bonnet, but once you do this is a very precise vehicle and it can handle all the speed that you throw at it. Despite the additional weight on the chassis this car works brilliantly on the road and looks good doing it. The roof will fold down in under 20 seconds in style, and still leave enough space in the boot for a couple of bags of luggage or a decent sized shop.
Mercedes-Benz haven’t skimped on practicality, with additional storage space behind the seats and a few nooks and crannies for the odds and ends. The interior is all leather and looks the part, while the dash is a little cluttered but does come with plenty of extras including sat nav, climate and cruise control, Bluetooth, and automatic lights/wipers.
There is a decent amount of space up front with plenty of headroom and endless legroom, while the metal roof provides security alongside all the usual refinements. Safety kit includes Attention Assist (which alerts the driver when they need a break), active anti-whiplash head restraints and a Mercedes’ Pre-Safe system, which primes the safety kit if it thinks an accident is truly unavoidable. This is a fantastic car and well worth the money spent at the pump.
