Ten Second Review
Toyota Aygo Lease Review - Put distinctive design and customisation together with operation economy, easy driving, generous standard kit, and a 5-year warranty (standard) and you have the all-new Toyota Aygo.
A distinctive coloured ‘X’ on the nose and various elements of the exterior and interior give the Aygo a young and stylish look. The Aygo is available in either a 3- or 5-door version and in 5 specification grades.
The updated 1.0-litre, 3-cylendar petrol motor gives top-of-the-adequate range power for city use. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard but an automated gearbox, the X-Shift, is available on some 5-door models. The ride and handling are greatly improved over earlier model Aygos.
The Aygo handles undulating road surfaces surprisingly well for a small car. Front seat riding is comfortable while the 2 rear seats are a bit limited in leg and head room. The boot is ample at 168 litres and accessible through the glass tailgate.
Running costs and road taxes are low. Aygo manual and automatic models average 67 – 69mpg and produce 95 – 97g/km of CO2, keeping the Aygo with in the A band.
This joint venture with Citroen and Peugeot has produced a city car worthy of any urbanite’s serious consideration.
